Project INSITE Training

  • Maine had four days of training.

  • Thursday, October 28th, 2010, Tuesday, November 30th, 2010, Thursday, January 27th, 2011 and Thursday, March 3rd, 2011.

  • Classes ran 9am – 4pm. Registration is at 8:30am Daily. The Maine Deafblind Project in collaboration with the Center for Community Inclusion & Disabilities Studies and CDS- Child Development Services.
  • Requirements: The participant must commit to: Attend all four days of training, Complete four home study assignments, four conference calls and complete an INSITE Checklist. In order to complete the assignments, participants must have access to a young child who is deafblind or who has sensory loss and additional disabilities.
  • Registration cost is $125.00 per person.
  • Space is limited so register early!
  • Training location is University of Maine, Center for Community Inclusion & Disability Studies, 225 Western Avenue, Augusta, ME 04330.

This project is funded by the United States Department of Education, Special Education Programs, under the Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA) and through project discretionary funds earmarked specifically for programs and projects working with infants, children and young adults who are deafblind to assist State Education Agencies in developing their capacity to adequately serve children and youth who are deafblind in cooperation with Perkins School for the Blind.
