Alerts & Stories in the News
February 23, 2010. Here is the link for the Jami Lard story. The SouthCoastToday.com and The Standard Times of New Bedford published an upbeat letter from Jaimi Lard. Jaimi wanted to speak directly to taxpayers about the critical need to fund services for people with disabilities - because a person who is well educated and supported can work and pay taxes, which in turn helps provide services to all.http://www.southcoasttoday.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20100223/OPINION/2230329
All are opportunities to show the flag for Deaf-Blind children and adults, to highlight the ritical support programs and services that make their lives better, and to tell State Representatives and Senators how their decisions can make a difference. Your presence atall of the events will help lend support to Deaf-Blind causes. If attending all of the events is difficult, please come to Deaf-Blind Awareness Day on March 16th, as a large showing of concerned citizens will go a long way in promoting awareness of this very low incidence population. All groups will have interpreters. For all communication access reqeusts, please conact State House ADA Coordinator, Carl Richardson at 3617-727-1100 x35502 or via E0mail: carl.richardson@state.ma.us Make your requests early as there are notification deadlines.
